MSDFCU cards are now contactless. Contactless payments are transactions made by tapping either a contactless chip card or payment-enabled mobile or wearable device over a contactless-enabled payment terminal. It's easy to pay with just a tap and helps you avoid touching surfaces at checkout.

Security:

Contactless chip cards meet all the same security standards as traditional contact chip cards.  Tapping to pay with your card is a secure way to pay because each transaction generates a transaction-specific, one-time code that reduces counterfeit fraud. To make a payment, your contactless card must be placed within 2 inches of the Contactless Symbol located on the checkout terminal in order for the transaction to take place so you can't pay accidentally.

Simplicity:

Our cards will have a Contactless Indicator on the front of the card, it looks like a small Wi-Fi symbol. This means you can pay by tapping your card at many of the places you shop, including grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and other businesses that display the same symbol on their terminals.

Here's how to use your card confidently:

1. Look. Check for the Contactless Symbol on the store's checkout terminal. 

2. Tap. When prompted, bring your card, mobile, or wearable device within a few inches of the Contactless Symbol on the checkout terminal.

3. Go. Your payment is securely processed in seconds. Once your payment is confirmed, you're good to go!
