CU Succeed - Teens Financial Network

This program has been designed for kids ages 13 to 17. Benefits include: eligibility for an ATM card (with parent permission) starting at age 13, eligibility for home banking, special quarterly newsletter, report card rewards: members can earn $1 for every "A" on their final report card each school year (up to $5 per year). Share Draft/Checking Accounts

Our checking accounts offer an alternative to the high fees and service charges at other financial institutions. There are NO minimum balance requirements, NO monthly service charges and NO per-check charges. Plus, overdraft protection is available.

Money Market Accounts

Enjoy a higher savings rate and easy access to your money! Only a $2,500 minimum balance is required to earn dividends. Maintain higher balances and earn even higher yields. With a money market, you can also request check-writing privileges (checks must be written in amounts of $500 or more).

Share Certificates (CDs)

This is just about the safest investment you can make. Terms available are 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, 36 months and 60 months. Minimum balance requirement is $500 for 3-month and 6-month CDs; $1,000 for all other terms. Earn even higher dividends with a jumbo CD ($25,000 minimum balance). Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Save for the future, defer taxes until you retire, plus reduce the tax you pay with our Individual Retirement Accounts. IRAs are available in the form of share accounts or share certificates (CD).

Traditional IRAs: Contributions and accumulated earnings are tax-sheltered until withdrawn. Penalty-free withdrawals are permitted any time after age 59 1/2 and must start by 70 1/2.

Roth IRAs: Contributions are taxed, but all withdrawals, including earnings, are tax-free if the account has been open for five years and the account holder is 59 1/2 or older. Penalty-free withdrawals of contributions are permitted any time.

Coverdell Education Savings Account (formerly Education IRA): Contributions of up to $2,000 per child per year can be made. Earnings accumulate tax free. Tax-free withdrawals can be made for qualified education expenses.
