Do I have to open a checking account when I join MSDFCU?
No, but our checking account is free. All you pay for is the cost of printing the checks.
Is there a monthly balance requirement?
There are NO monthly balance requirements, plus overdraft protection is available.
Is there a minimum balance requirement?
No. There are NO minimum balance requirements.
Why is there a difference between my balance and the available balance?
There may be checks on hold that have been deposited, or Point-of-Sale transactions may be on hold until the actual transaction is processed.
Where do I find the account number I need for direct deposit?
This information is found on the MICR line on the bottom of your check. See the diagram below for the MICR line placement on your check. 
Will I receive my cancelled checks?
No, however cleared checks may be viewed online through your Home Banking Account.
Will I receive a monthly statement?
Yes, you will receive a monthly e-statement if we have a current e-mail address. If you don’t have an e-mail address, we will mail you a monthly statement.
